Privacy Policy

FairStop (“we”, “the app”) is a personal accountability tool for traffic stops. We are designed to keep your data private and stored on your device whenever possible. This policy explains what data we handle, how we use it, and your choices.

Stop logs, audio recordings, emergency contacts, your lawyer’s details, and photos of your license, registration, and insurance are stored locally on your device (browser storage and IndexedDB). They are not uploaded unless you explicitly back them up.

The app records audio only when you tap the record button during a stop. Recording does not start automatically and does not run in the background. Recording third parties may be subject to one- or two-party consent laws in your state; you are responsible for compliance.

The app requests your location only when you send an SOS alert, to include a map link in the message. Location is used one-time, in the foreground, and is not stored or tracked.

Emergency contact and lawyer details are stored only on your device and are never uploaded. SOS messages are sent through your own messaging app; we do not send or store messages ourselves.

When you create an account, we store your email address. Subscription and purchase records are kept to manage your FairStop Pro access. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card details.

Statute lookup, officer lookup, and audio analysis send the details you provide to an AI service to generate a response. Audio rights disclosures are also generated by an AI service. Do not submit information you do not want processed by a third-party AI provider.

If you connect Google Drive, stop log entries are backed up to your own Drive. We only request access to files created by the app and never read or modify your other Drive content.

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it. Account and subscription records are retained while your account is active and removed when you delete your account.

You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. Deletion removes your account, subscription records, and all data stored on your device. This action cannot be undone.

FairStop is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children under 18.

You may access, correct, or delete your data as described above. If you have questions about your data, use the in-app account deletion or contact us through the support channels provided by the app store.
